Saville family in Skirbeck, Lincs
21 Answers
I'm trying to trace my maternal grandfather's family tree and struggling with my G.G.grandfather's family. I'm descended from Arthur Saville (b. 1895 in Skirbeck), who is the son of John Edward Rodgers Saville (b. 1856 in Hull) and Ellen Ruth ? (b. 1858 in Boston, Lincs). Arthur also had two siblings, John H (1897) and Lizzie (1900) both born in Skirbeck.
I can't find a record of John and Ellen's marriage to get her surname, or John's birth record (I do have a John Saville living with his grandparents in Hull, but as there are no parents in the picture I can't trace it forward and be sure it's the right person).
Needless to say South Lincs council is USELESS, I can find anying from the very helpful peeps at N Lincs but unfortunately they don't cover this area. Does anyone know of a way to find this info, I've tried all the usual sites etc and am drawing a blank! I will be eternally grateful and will happily return the favour if anyone is struggling with a search of their own, I'm a full member of Ancestry and also have access to the coveted 1911 census!
