Sisyphus

How does one pronounce Sisyphus? Reading Camus and don't want to make an a**e out of myself.

pretty much as it looks: sort of Sissifis, with the accent on the first syllable. Camus called him Sisyphe, which would be pronounced more like Seeseef, with the accent on the second syllable.

I've always pronounced it 'sissy-fuss' - and because I work for BT, it's an epxression I use a lot!
