The constellation form the belt, head, legs, bow and sword of Orion. He is placed next to their hunting dogs (Canis Mayor and Canis Menor), and took the opposite position to the Scorpion constellation. The legend says that Hera send Scorpion to kill Orion, but has fail to do it and the two are fighting in the sky for eons
