It happened before the American Revolution. So it is a precursor.
Other than that I can find no points of comparison.
You might like to consider that both occurred as a result of the refusal of the monarch to cede to the will of the representatives of the people.
Look up the Dominion of New England and the Maryland Protestant overthrow of government 1689
They both happened when folk got fed up with kids not doing their own homework

Or how was the English revolution a precurser to the Glorious revolution. Throughout history bagbug revolutions have inspired other revolutions. US, French, Europe & Russian all have proved to be inspirational
