Paris, Texas, seems a likely place for this Academy, though the spelling of honour would be 'honor'. America has no hallmarking as we know it; silver items are marked simply "925" to indicate sterling silver or sometimes "coin silver" is found, indicating that the piece is silver but not necessarily of that quality. And anyway, coins and small medals are not invariably stamped there. But a good jeweller can test the piece without harming it and say whether it is silver and check its weight to see whether it is solid silver or not.
I missed the bleedin' obvious. It is marked sterling? American pieces are stamped sterling or sterling silver, or were, before 925 became usual. There is probably a maker's mark somewhere. Google 'US hallmarks' and there'll be a site which shows or lists these. If you find one, that makes it certain that it is silver
