I think it was David Lloyd George.

Lloyd Geoge was the last Liberal to be Prime Minister, but it was as the leader of a National Government. After the Tories broke up the coalition in about 1923, the Liberals were trounced in the ensuing election and never held power again.

The last Liberal leader of a Liberal government, I think, was Asquith.
