Hi...

Can someone please tell me, what was the UK voting age at the UK EEC membership referendum in 1975.

I was born in 1972...so I know very little about it.

The 'age of majority' in the UK was lowered from 21 to 18 in 1971. As that was the year I became 18, I was among the first 18-year-olds to vote.

It was 18. It was the first time I voted!

It wasn't a 'membership' referendum as such. It was a referendum to decide whether or not to remain in the EEC which we'd joined a couple of years earlier.
