I can't give you any examples but it will probably help you to learn that a 'hot war' is one of armed open conflict, as opposed to a 'cold war' which is one which falls short of open conflict but is fought 'behind the secenes'.  The war between the US and the USSR was a cold war, where or when this ever resulted in a hot war I don't know.
does it mean three examples where the two superpowers (USSR and USA) fought each other using the medium of other countries (eg Vietnam, Afghanistan) or it could be threatened nuclear involved things that happened (eg Cuban Missile Crisis)?

I suppose you could argue that the Soviet invasions of Hungary and Czechoslovakia counted as hot. In both cases the countries were allies of the Soviets but were getting restless, and local leaders were edging towards greater freedom, until the tanks rolled in.

There were also 'proxy wars' - the USA and USSR never fought but the Vietnam war involved the USA trying to block possible communist takeover of South Vietnam. Britain fought in Korea and Malaya (as was), also to stop the feared spread of communism.

Any openly armed conflict will suffice as long as you can relate it to the relationship of the superpowers involved in the cold war. e.g. To what extent was the cold war responsible for the hot wars in increasing tension or requiring demonstrable action. What level are you working at?

Look there arent many wars between 1945 and 2005. I suppose you cannot count the Falklands war - United Kingdom, Argentine

so what aboutward that have US or USSR on one side and they are: Korea - 1950s, ? Malays insurgency

Vietnam ends 1973, Afghanistan, /Chechnya

Oh I see, once you start enumerating them, you then have to explain why you have picked that one, as it does not seem so clear.....

The Cold war got its name because both sides were afraid of fighting each other directly.  So, instead, they fought each other indirectly. They supported conflicts in different parts of the world. They also used words as weapons. They threatened and denounced each other. Or they tried to make each other look foolish.

Both sides actively tried to influence political and economic developments around the world. The Soviet Union provided military, economic, and technical aid to communist governments in Asia. The US then helped eight Asian nations fight communism by establishing the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization. In the middle 1950s, the US began sending military advisers to help South Vietnam defend itself against communist North Vietnam.

The Cold War also affected the middle east. In the 1950s, both east and west offered aid to Egypt to build the Aswan High Dam on the Nile River. The west canceled its offer, however, after Egypt bought weapons from the communist government of Czechoslovakia. The Egyptian president then seized control of the company that operated the Suez Canal. A few months later, Israel invaded Egypt. France and Britain joined the invasion. The Suez Crisis was a political victory for the Soviets.

Other examples of "hot conflict" for your research could be, the Cuban exiles invading Cuba to oust the communist government of Fidel Castro, the subsequent Cuban crisis, the tensions over the building of the Berlin Wall and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979
