Most of us have visited one in our lifetime. This documentary is a look through 200 years of the fair from start to present day. '' The allure of the fairground is how it arrives in our midst & then just as suddenly disappears'' Fascinating!
Aww thanks lozzy anyway! Glad it's not just me. Thanks Buen, wouldn't know how to do that. This series is so interesting! Thanks again to both of you x
Thanks for the link Elina and Chris - loved the programme., However they missed out all the static fairgrounds that were so iconic - Belle Vue Manchester, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Spanish City at Whitley Bay, Peter Pan's Playground in Southend - and wasn't there one on the coast near Edinburgh?
OH used to work the dodgems at Belle Vue...and the rifle range....
Hi Mosaic, very interesting wasn't it. I think they were concentrating on the travelling fairs. I was taken to Belle Vue regularly as a child, have old movie film of it. Thanks for your input x
