We seem to have at least two other members who were at HMS Ganges:

I was brought up in Ipswich, where all outdoor events (such as the annual Co-op Fete in Christchurch Park) seemed to have an obligatory gymnastics display put on by the boys of HMS Ganges which, of course, was just down the road from the town.

Sorry my joining date was 1948, I know I did some training/exams etc at Raleigh and Royal Arthur, also a divers course at HMS Vernon in about 1956. That was with the old type Siebe Gorman and the New(?) Frogmans course, it was at the time of the Commander Crab incident with the Russian ship Sverdlov. I was on HMS Boxer £8M Radar ship. I did the Spithead revue and Suez aboard the same ship. I can at least say I have walked across from Vernon to Gosport, the walk was like being in a Second hand/junk shop in the fog. Is the 100 ft diving tower still in use that was part of the course when I was at HMS Dolphin.
