I would love to do my family tree... or have someone do it!

Where do you start?

I would also love to try one of the DNA tests that tell you your heritage has anyone tried this? X

The two people who I have contacted so far have given me names (one of them knew my Dad) and the latest one gave me the name of my mother's uncle and cousin so I know they are definitely related.

I did join an ancestry website (Friends Reunited), and I found a cousin, whom I didn't previously know of, plus I rediscovered another cousin (whom I hadn't seen for many years), both of them in the UK. After delving deep into my family's past, however, the names that I found were of strangers, whom I could not find any interest in, so that was that.
