Hesketh is a part of Fleetwood, maybe the owner/writer was CH who lived in Hesketh?
If the Major is your man there's lots of links on Google.
Both Fleetwood and Hesketh are Lancashire names. Roger Fleetwood-Hesketh was an MP for Southport in the 1950's. C H Fleetwood-Hesketh was his father and was a Major in the British Army. He lived from 1871 to 1947 and married Anne Dorothea Brocklebank who died in the sinking of the liner SS City of Benares when it was torpedoed in 1940. I hope this gives you a starting point for your research.
I meant to add his full name was Charles Hesketh Fleetwood-Hesketh.
Have a look here for more info about him:

The Fleetwood-Heskeths lived in Hale on Merseyside. Lords of the Manor there.
Do you still have info from your previous post?

Thank you all so much.

I must be going bonkers because I had quite forgotten that I had previously asked for information about this man.

I have recently been reading the book again so that was what prompted me to post the question.
