One definition of 'myth' is that it is a figment or a commonly-held belief that is untrue. I should think that applies pretty accurately to the Atlantis story!

Yes it's definately a myth.

Whilst I agree with the given definition of 'myth', Like God, who some say is, and some say isn't a myth, it hasn't been proved one way or the other.
Sorry to say No Myth, as the lost city has been found somewhere between Greece and Turkey, even seen footage of it.

........ Atlantis is approximately 100 miles East of Lands End and looks like this, and here is an inhabitant ......

..... the inhabitant was a bit shy but hopefully has popped up here .....

interesting summing-up here. I think someone recently reckoned it was off Ireland somewhere.

The good ol' US of A found it years ago - City of Atlantis
my gosh kempie, if the original Atlantis had also extended as far as the Lake Worth Drainage District canal, they might not have had all that trouble with the water.

Atlantis was a continent. Its capital was called by the same name or by that of Poseidonis. Apparently it has been found (again) - Atlantis is located under the South China Sea.

"Official Science, rejects the actual existence of Atlantis, as it has so far been unable to find any traces of its reality. But the reason for that is simple to explain. Everybody has been looking in the wrong locations, as Atlantis indeed lies in the opposite side of the world...."

Here everyone. Read the first few pages of this book. The Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan.

you have a point there Octavius - nobody's found it because they've been looking in the wrong place.

Now where did I put my keys?

I dunno jno, but I bet they are in the last place you look...

I've got a funny story about Atlantis. I made up a general knowledge quiz to test on my family just for fun and in one question I asked what place was hit by "Little Boy" and my dad said Atlantis. Lol

(Little boy was the nick name given to the atomic bomb which hit Hiroshima, for those of you who don't know.)
