I have searched the internet and been looking in old local interest books of Hitchin in North Hertfordshire but I am unable to find the name of a Volvo garage that was situated for many many years down Old Park Road.
Any memories of the town or a company name ?

of the town yes, not the company name, but then it was twenty or more years since i was there. Mr Em came from there....

A rough indication of the date might help.

However Marshall of Hitchin used to be at 23 Old Park Road and the Marshall group of companies have long held the Volvo franchise at many of their locations.

Guess the Volvo garage would have been there from the 1970s to around 2000.
