What proportion of all of the humans ever born (alive) are still alive?

The accepted figure for the number of people who have ever lived is approximately 60 billion, making the present population about 10% of every human who has ever been on earth.
I dont take issue with TheHitMaker but I thought a curious fact was always that there were more people on the planet alive today than there has ever been in human history, bearing in mind the exponential growth of human population.

True but I've heard that that number will never match the number of dead. Not sure if that's true too.
I'd heard slightly different from inachis. More people have lived during the whole of the 20th Century than have lived before. But I have heard "experts" dis' that theory too.
