Anne Frank is world famous but few have heard of Sophie Scholl who was a German anti-nazi activist. She is celebrated in Germany and has many things named in her memory along with her brother.

There was also a young 17 year old lad that I read about who met the same fate as her but I can't remember his name. Any ideas?

It wasn't her brother, Jackdaw. Her brother was older than Sophie. This was a 17yr old boy who was executed for standing up to the nazis.

There is a good film about her - based on oral evidence. There are no papers. Freisler - the people's judge didnt leave any. Presumably destroyed

But the reason we dont know an awful lot about the german resistance is that there wasnt an awful lot of it

My papa spent 5 y in germany 1940-5 ( yeah Dunkirk) and the average Mann in the strasse was far too worried about concentration camps to do anything xc salute Hitler
( army - then sent to the Russian Front)

Sophie fought against the Jew hating,anti-semitic fascists.Perhaps we can honour her memory by fighting against all Jew hating scum.One or two on this site possibly.At least one has been removed.Permanently hopefully.
