I wonder if that bears any relationship to the September 2 we have today - the calendar's changed a lot...

Britain did not switch to the Gregorian calendar until 1752, when Wednesday 2nd September in the Julian calendar dawned as Thursday the 14th in the Gregorian. But 'real' calculations advise us that 2nd September 31 BEC can today be regarded as 20th August as August was Sextilis (6th month) until 8 BEC, but then September was the 7th month of the former latin calendar so it is all rather confusing, what with Octavians calendar reforms as well!

Well after becoming pater patriae I thought it best to keep a low profile, hence I am using my birth name rather than Augustus.
