Friar John

Does anyone know the history of Friar John who has a grave in Stamford (Lincs.) cemetery? The inscription on his grave says "Friar John. Twice buried 1400 and 1909".

He was found during drainage excavations at no 7 Adelaide Street. It was a lead coffin and parchment inside helped him be identified.
He was re-interred at Stamford Cemetary after a mass at St Augustine's church.
If you have access to British Newspapers online, there is an article in the Stamford Mercury dated 17 September 1909 which gives more info.
