Probably the greatest fight in history, the Thrilla in Manilla took place. Ali and Frazier fought each other to a standstill in 15 rounds of brutality. Ali only won because his team were slightly slower throwing the towel in. Both fighters went straight to hospital.

The way i recall it, TTT, Ali might have done tne job in the 2nd or 3rd round - i know it was early doors - when he caught Frazier with a right which rocked him. The ref almost instantly called an end to the round, but it later transpired that there was quite a bit of time left.
