miners in the north east!
hi, well i am just searching the net for my great grandads history! particularly when he finished working in the mines! so if any one could help me find him that would be great thankyou! by the way i have already tried friends reunited and genes reunited no luck there either! PLEASE HELP ME

They should have records if he was a member.
Do you know what mine he worked in - there has been a lot of work done on such things and if you can narrow it down to one particular mine or even the area there is bound to be a local hsitory society or an individual who has done a history.

Same as you, grandfather was a miner in Easington. colliery. Unfortunately he was killed in the Easington pit disaster.
Easington Colliery have a very good historical site or you could try Durham Mining Museum.
Even if your grandad was not from that particular area they are both interesting sites to visit although a little sad when you read the names of all killed including young boys.
