The ancient greeks were widely accepting of homosexuality, and most early cultures did not see sex as anything taboo. they also saw death as part of life. when christianity established dominance, the church convinced everyone sex was wrong and death sans being 'saved' was eternal damnation. It can be seen, then, that greek religious beliefs and those of early civilisations have many parallels before christianity.
