My 'favourite' appears in the 1940's portmanteau film 'Dead Of Night'. In the final segment, Michael Redgrave plays the schizophrenic ventriloquist who'se malevolent dummy Hugo Fitch takes over his act, and eventually, his personality. I saw it when I was about nine, and I've retained a morbid dislike of puppets ever since.

How about Zig and Zag who used to have a slot on Channel 4's Big Breakfast? They started life on Irish childrens television and were at one point appearing on both English and Irish television before quitting to go over to Channel 4 full-time. I don't know if they did anything further on English telly but they still appeared periodically on Irish TV and had a suppertime quiz until recently. They also released two music albums in Ireland and one in England which produced a hit single by the name of 'Them girls' or something similar. Have you ever heard of Rodge and Podge?
