Do you remember any of the comics we used to get when we were girls in the 60's - I can remember Bunty, Judy and Mandy - were there any more? Of course, who could forget Jackie in the 70's when we were teenagers. What was the name of the problem page, seem to think it was two girls names - they always had a good answer for your boyfriend probs?
And not just "Ladies"! I am the proud possesor of a 1969 Bunty book for girls annual. I read my sister's copy every week and remember this annual in particular. when I saw it in a second hand bookshop I could hardly believe it. Which was your favourite of the four Marys? (or is that just me?)
Somewhere I've still got the ring that came free with either the first or second edition of Twinkle! Sad or what! I also used to love Teddy Bear - with Bare Bear who would take all her clothes off - don't think it would be allowed nowadays!
I remember my first Bunty. I was in hospital with bronchitis (we lived in Nairobi) and my mother bought me issue number 58! When my daughter was small I used to buy her Bunty as well and it was great to see the 4 Marys - who didn't seem any older. Those were the days!
I also got Fab 208 - I'd forgotten about it till you posted. It was brilliant - but best of all was Dear Donny - bless him - Donny Osmond did a problem page - he could only have been about 14 at the time and we thought he could solve our problems ! It also had Raspberries and Roses. You could write in and say who you would award raspberries to (someone you didn't like) and Roses to (someone who took your fancy or did you a good turn.)
