Scotland and N.Ireland swim in the same gene pool

Those in the Protestant Unionist community in N.Ireland were originally, for the most part, settlers from Scotland hence they still carry Scottish surnames and ginger hair (Scotland having the highest % of gingers in the world) as signs of their heritage. The Gaelic-speaking Celts in Scotland (well what's left of them the majority being parcelled off in coffin ships to the New World) were originally settlers from the North part of Ireland and apparently the Gaelic spoken there is very similar to Scots Gaelic. So perhaps the two countries should unite (I mean being British is so last season) and call themselves the 'Ulster-Caledonian Bonanza' or the 'Ginger Whingers' or the 'Ginger Celtic Random-Tandem'. No?

Both run by idiots, both speak the same language, both like invading other countries, both are big polluters, both are held in low esteem around the world, both have very little native cultures (are the English actually French, Saxon, Viking, Roman?) left, both make crap alcohol, cuisine isn't exactly great......

Now a name........ I think my suggestions might be censored..... anything think of somthing clean?

I am a Scottish Protestant living in Dublin married into a Methodist family.

I am looking forward to getting my Irish Passport so that when I travel I don't have to be British - but I'll always be Scottish first having grown up in the Hebrides.

I have travelled for a year around the world and it's amazing the reaction you get being Scottish or Irish - or should I say... not being English.

Last June we went to an U21 rugby match in Argentina and the crowd were amazed that the English speakers they heard were cheering for Argentina against England - realisation dawned 2 hours later when Scotland played. They appreciated our supporting them and joined in with us supporting Scotland!!!

Seabed, why doesnt England declare independence from the rest of the British Isles, you could always break away and call yourselves Morrisdancinrentboyland. Kinda trips off the tongue dontcha think? And seeing as England is run by scots, they would have to be kicked out, however you could always get Ken Livingstone and Abu Hamza in to run your affairs. Chin chin.
