The final Queen Eleanor (of Provence) died in 1291 at Amesbury Abbey, Wiltshire and is buried in the local Convent Church.

I've often thought Elanor of Aquitaine lived the most incredible life and yet is rarely known.

Married the King of France, went on crusade with him, divorced him, had an affair with the father of King Henry II of England, left himmarried Henry II (becoming the only person to have been queen of England and France) was the mother of 2 kings of England, Richard the Lionheart and John. Raised a rebellion against Henry and was imprisoned. Ruled England as regent when Richard was on crussade and died in 1204 (presumably of exhaustion) and as Dot says was buried at Fontevrault.

But I suspect we're talking of Elanor of Castille of the Crosses fame who died in Harby Nottinghamshire. - Duller but it's touching how in an age of political marriages how much she and Edward really loved each other
