The following day, Hock Tuesday, was a term-day on which farm rents and so on were paid. It, together with Michaelmas Day in September, marked the summer and winter halves of the countryside's year. From at least the 14th century, it was an important festival, where money was raised for the parish by various forms of fun and games.
So, have a heck of a day on April 24th, Scarletta!
