At present, the red door on No10.
But why did the Daily Mail say Fool in the first line? seeing that told me instantly it was a Fools joke.

listen to the song, it is brilliant.

Thanks Lonnie - you probably mean the one in the paper, but I'm glad I posted my one now!

Trouble is, I've never been one to play tricks on people, not nice, so I quickly posted that it was an April Fool joke!

Brilliant IAP - I'd have like to have watched the CCTV coverage afterwards (if there was any of course).

That song is brilliant too Kags!

I remember the one on "That's Life" in 1984. They had an item about a new rare animal which had just arrived at London Zoo from the Himalayas. It was called a "Lirpa Loof" and it was like a bear / racoon / panda / yeti but with the tendency to mimic the actions of humans. And it did purple poo. Being autistic, I was far more sheltered and naive and gullible as a teenager than I am now, and I was completely taken in. I was pestering my parents that we should go to the Zoo to see it. For some reason, I missed the episode the next week when they did the "reveal", so I didn't realise that it was just an April Fool even a week later. I kept on asking to go to the zoo, and it was quite a while before my parents realised that I was serious and that I hadn't got the joke.
In 1983, the Croydon Advertiser had a story that Croydon was going to be re-named Crogdene, because that is closer to its original name 1000 years ago. The story was full of hints and names like "Joe Kerr" but again I was totally taken in. The next week there were complaints from people who had scribbled out the name and changed it on their telephone directory etc.
I can't believe i fell for that crappy red door joke!

This year my partner woke me up with the news that ******* had just been hit with an atomic bomb.

I sat up - pole straight - and went into a (very predictable) rage about how volatile relations are, and who the **** would do such a stupid thing etc....etc...etc.....

My partner then grinned and declared with glee 'April fool!'

Now, usually I would react with something like, 'If' (by some miracle) 'I get up before you next year - I'll get you back - you great big ****** *****' however, this year, I didn't need to react like that at all.

I got out of bed, gave him a smile as I passed to the kitchen, found a pad and pen (an absolute double wammy in our house!) and wrote him a message in large letters. It read...

TODAY'S DATE IS 31st MARCH -WHO'S THE DADDY NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!

I put a notice on the 'bulletin board' at our office stating that.. "Pranks and practical jokes relating to 'April fools day', are in contradiction to the company's working practice and anyone found to be in breach of this will face disciplinary action."

I did get a bit of a 'ticking off' for posting an unauthorised notice but that was the only 'April fool' at our work this year.

Some years ago one of the major upmarket newpapers (It may have been The Telegraph) advertised an authentic sounding executive spoof job. Apparently the recruitment agency who published it were absolutely innundated with replies from highly intelligent applicants.
I work in the Civil Service and a few years ago my friend and me circulated a memo to all staff telling them that a uniform was to be introduced. We designed the most dreadful green uniforms for males and females and told people that they had to go to the staff rest room to be measured. A few people caught on but we heard some interesting language from some of the trendier members of staff that "were going to leave if they had to dress like that".
Our local Radio Station Manx Radio, put one out years ago. James Hunt then Formula 1 Champoin was coming over to attempt to break the lap record for the TT course in a Formula 1 car. As they could not get a road closure order in time. There would be a Police car in front of him, and one behind. A lot of people turned up to watch.
