A sensetive point I know but remember the Romans were far from angels and it's okay to ask the same question about them.

What positives for the world came from the Nazi rule?

I'll start: Affordable personal transport, i.e. Volkswagen.

Please don't spoil it by calling me a Nazi lover. Thanks.

certain medical research has aided us as well as the idea of the motorway.

was tis the Nazis or the Germans?not the rocket the other stuff.
I don't think the Nazis did anything for us, the difference being pointed out by dot, but if it hadn't been for the Nazis/Germans, and I don't tar them with the same brush, I wouldn't be here now.
Well - directly or indirectly? If you think of the advances made during WW2 they formed the basis for most of modern technology. Directly - well perhaps as a programme once said, the Nazis, a warning from history, as well as their technology research.
Its gotta be the VW Beetle!! :o)
hopefullly taught us lessons!!

It might seem a bit roundabout but us all sitting here plonking away at our computers is (sort of) thanks to the nazis.

Alan Turing and his clever chums at Bletchley Park developed an early version of the programmable computer to crack the German Enigma code.
From their wartime work we can trace a direct line to the home computers we are all sitting in front of now.
They gave us a rich and inventive legacy for beered up football fans to endlessly and drunkenly embarrass themselves and our country with.

Yet again Tommy Flowers goes unnoticed

not really my specialist subject, but don't cheap mass-produced cars go back to Henry Ford and his Model T? And in Britain Herbert Austin with his Austin Seven?
Sorry shammy!
Tommy Flowers!
We salute you!
I knew there was someone else involved but couldnt remember his name (how you forget a name like that though i dont know!).

The fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square should have a statue to Tommy.
Rename Mayday to Tommy Flowers Day perhaps?

It could be argued they helped put the man on the moon.

Werner von Braun worked for the nazis designing their jet engines for V2 and jet aeroplanes.

At the end of the war the US spirited him away to the USA where he designed many of their rockets.

He was still involved in designing the rockets when they sent man to the moon.

It is unlikely that without the Nazis and the war he would have found his way to the USA.

I am pretty certain that the Beetle was invented before the Nazi party officially existed..although yes, it was Hitler's idea.

And give thanks to the British army for making sure the Beetle continued production after the war!

Absolutely spot on! And to think that he was laughed out of London when he pitched his idea to the penpushers and ended up funding the building of Collosus out of his own pocket. Still, I suppose genius must be hard to recognise when one is confronted with it.

Apologies to Il billy for deviating (only slightly) from the point.

Whatever they did It was outweighed by the evil they did but then again we now know so much from it. I

t helped us all realise that we must interfere in other countries if we think we should.

Unfortunately that gave terrible people like those in power in the US an excuse to help kick out the ALLENDE'S socialist government of chile that the people loved in a fair election so they would have easier access to exploit other countries of south america like venezuela for oil, to declare the gulf war for oil to start a war with iraq solely for oil.
