I was recentley reading an article where a bishop stated that even if a man who had all the gifts of christ and it could be proved that he was not a charlaton was to reveal himself to the church and ask for the formal church to be disbanded, that this would not happen. Taking into account of indivdual beliefs, whatever they may be it would seem even if there was a second coming, no one would ever believe it. If anyone has any answers i would be interested to read them.

We are a funny lot - the majority of church people cannot live, or even have a church service without - rules! Nothing to do with christianity or even religion, but somehow rules become a sort of security blanket - and if anyone dares to do things just a little bit differently you would think it was the end of the world!! The point about Jesus not being believed if he suddenly appeared today is also true - because 2,000 years ago when people flocked to hear Him preach, see Him heal the sick - most didn't believe, even with the evidence in front of their eyes - so it would be exactly the same today, people don't change whatever the time in history!!
The Bible make sit clear that the second coming of the Lord will be like a thief in the night> It also states that the believer will met the Lord in the clouds> One person will be talking to another out in the field and in the twinkling of an eye, one is taken and the other left. Search any Bible; King James, NIV, etc. check out Mathew Chapter 24....
