Jack Ruby died of cancer in prison, although there are some conspiracy theories about how he got it.

I believe the conspiracy theories concern the fact that Ruby knew he had little time to live, and was therefore happy to remove the patsy they got to shoot JFK. We'll probably never know the truth.

Jack Ruby died of cancer a few weeks after he was interviewed during a prison transfer, the interviewer asked "who killed JFK" and Ruby answered "look at the polecat in the whitehouse" i.e. LBJ
