does anyone know of a good company to trace family trees?

I suggest you contact either a local family history society or even better, the Society of genealogist (http://www.sog.org.uk/) - make sure you get a good reference because it's all to easy for someone to dredge up information from indexes/websites without checking how accurate it actaully is - an 'unscrupulous' investigator may not bother to double check his/her sources!
