Is it not an unarguable fact that nothing any good ever came out of France? And now they are going to send us thunderstorms!

In answer to your question, no; it is not unarguable as I'm now demonstrating.
I quite like thunderstorms.

Lets not forget that the French also gave us....

Cecile Simeone
Audrey Tautou
Virginie Ledoyen
Laetitia Casta
Elodie Frg

Brrrr, before I go any further I need to take a short break........
What a ridiculous, xenophobic statement!
Actually it's more specific, its francophobic.
Good point, I stand corrected!
Charles Asnodrawers could sing a good song for a Frog in his day.
Ah, the "Frank Sinatra of France", well he can sing in six languages, French, English, Italian, Spanish, German, and Russian.

My suggestions just have to look nice and sit and stare...........
Three words

David
Ginola
Brie
This is a "what did the Romans ever do for us?" thing isn't it?

Philosophers: Decarte, Voltaire, Rousseau, Pascale, Satre
Scientists: Lavoisier, Laplace,Bequerel, Curie, de Broglie
Artists: Renoir, Rodin, Matisse, Degas, Rodin...

Then there's the wine, food and countryside which makes France the world's most popular tourist destination.

In fact it seems an unarguable fact that our education system fails miserably to educate most people about our nearest neighbour
Have any of you ever given a thought to the state of their drains ?
well, I shall welcome the thunderstorms as they will water the garden, which is more than the British authorities will let me do. And the rain will probably be Perrier, too.
I agree with jake & jno. What a shocker!
Hi Kingsway - Any country that can produce Brigitte Bardot has got my vote. Whenever I drive through France I miss the roadside litter, I am appalled at how cheap town parking is and how good their motorway stops are. Dreadful place.
Hi Kingsway What about French Letters. They are good in some circumstances Al
Oh, I don't know - claret, burgundy, champagne, Armagnac, Brigitte Bardot, more burgundy, more champagne, Roquefort, more claret, more champagne, Toulouse-Lautrec, Monet, Manet, more champagne, Erik Satie, Sylvie Guillem (did I mention champagne?).............
My seven and nine year old daughters were born in France and they would like to know your address, so they can send the Foreign Legion round for tea and a kicking.
I am an Englishman but am glad to say i do not fall into the category of France haters. I love the place and everything in the country. Food, drink, women, music, scenery and the extremely good weather, whether that be thunderstorms or sunshine.
I quite liked Gerard Depardieu, but suspect that if that old growler Maurice Chevalier was still around these days with his "Thank heaven for little girls" he would be locked up the moment he set foot in Dover.

But you make my point exactly, Drusilla. The Frenchies have to send foreigners around to do any sort of manly work.
I share Maudlettice's concern with the drains, and have thought long and hard about what to do with a bidet.
