Weight limits HGV's

If the tractor unit is a 44 tonnes gross weight and the trailer's 36 tonnes gross weight what is the maximum gross train weight, my managers says its 41 tonnes is this correct? i thinkit is 36 tonnes.

Tractor units don't weigh 44 tonnes and their MGW isn't 44 tonnes, either.

I think the legal maximum train weight of a tractor & semi-trailer is 44 tonnes in the UK.

It is 44 tonnes,went from,I think 38 to 44. Depends on size of tractor and trailer also. The unit/trailer will be plated informing you of it's max rolling weight

Your question is stupid. A tractor alone cannot be 44 tonnes - it depends on the trailer, and if you don't know this you should not be driving LGV's

We have the answer now, just need our boss to see sense and not fire us for refusing to take out the overloaded vehicles. ah well a few days on the dole can not be all bad.
