Is ther any men or women in history such as Sir Thomas Moore ( he was executed) who angered their king as much as Moore did and lived to tell the tale?

Mr Al Fayed comes into this catagory, to lose all royal warrents. What more of a punishment could he have? Cleaning the royal privvy (televised of course) maybe?
