I read somewhere the reason why the faces of most church clocks are pale blue, but I cannot remember the reason or where I read it. Can anybody help?

i don't recall hardly ever seeing a pale blue church clock face, most of the ones i see are dark, [black] with golden numbers and hands.. i am color blind however.. but not that much; where are these faces?

and scroll down to the section headed "The Chancel Ceiling" for an explanation.
I have noticed lots of them and thought the same myself. I wondered if the end of the hour hand, which often has a sun attached to it, is meant to be passing across a blue sky ? Just a guess .
