In British history since 1100, which one other year links 1154,1216, and 1714 in the same specific context?

New King of England

1154 - Henry II
1216 - Henry III
1714 - George I

2 of those are Dynastic changes
Henry II was the First Plantagent, George I the first Hanoverian but Henry III was John's son.

If you'd said 1485 (Tudors) rather than 1216 then I'd have said 1603 as the start of the Stuarts

Maybe I'm on the wrong track but I can't see the connection between those Kings - bit of a coincidence that they're all years the thone changed hands
Not quite - they are all years that a monarch with a unique name died. (Stephen, John, Anne).

Unless you count Lady Jane Grey (queen for 9 days) who was executed and succeeded by Mary I in 1553 then the only other year in this series is 1901 (Victoria succeeded by Edward VII).

I had thought of that also but rejected it on the grounds of Lady Jane Grey (Queen regnant but never crowned) and Matilda (effectively being Queen in 1141 although never styling herself thus) both fitting the criteria.
