Can anybody identify these photographs?

I bought a box of postcards and inside where three photographs of a small boat on display and one of a tapestry of sorts. Can anybody tell me more about them?

I can't help with the second picture (which appears to be a half-hoisted sail, rather than a tapestry) but a quick bit of web-searching seems to have identified the first one as being from Oslo's Viking Ship Museum:

That would make sense. Many of the postcards were from Oslo. Thanks for that.

The second one is the sail of the 'Kon Tiki' , a balsa wood raft which Thor Heyerdal sailed from S. America to Polynesia. Google 'Kon Tiki' or look here

I've followed a link, from the Wikipedia page he mentions, to the website of the Kon Tiki Museum. Access to their site requires that you disable any pop-up blockers, so I'll simply direct you to this single photo, from that site, depicting the 'Kon Tiki' as it's now displayed:

The photographs are actually postcards - but with nothing written on them (thoughless). It is nice to know what they depict.

Thanks for your kind words Chris. I think I did a school project many, many years ago about Kon Tiki. Amazing what sticks in your head isn't it!

The first pic is definetaly a viking ship!! they have a reconstruction of one just like this one in the National museum of Ireland!!
