Possibly, but unlikely. The name of the garden referred to the �style� and not a dedication to the English as such. Outside of England such names are given to gardens which adopt the designs of landscaper such as Capability Brown. Similarly we would refer to �cottage gardens� or �Japanese water gardens� as a style.
