Can anyone tell me if the Spitfire and the Hurricane fighters had the same Rolls Royce engines and were they ever converted to fuel injection like German ME 109?

The lack of fuel injection was a considerable drawback. Read what it says in the link about fuel starvation in a dive. It also meant that, unlike the Messerschmit, the planes couldn't fly inverted for any length of time.
(Many Messerschmit pilots flew their plane inverted for attacks on B17 bombers. It meant they could pull away very quickly, and have the underside of the plane as protection for the pilot against the B17 gunfire).
