3 Answers
my dad was in india in 1947 when he was 26. i remember him saying he went to burma and lucknor amongst others?? why would the raf be in india at this time? he apparently was part of the ground maintenance/crew. any ideas how i would find out more about him and perhaps get some photos or chat to his comrades? he would be 86 now. makes me regret not having chatted to him more about this.

He will have had a unique service number, i can remember my ex husbands even now and i never will forget it, even though it is 1 letter and 7 digits long. If you can find his marriage certificate, if he was in the RAF when he married his squadron and service number should be on there, it is on mine.
He was probably an airframe technician which followed the aircraft. he would have dealt with anything on the planes but the hydraulics and electrics, so my ex always said.
