The plantocracy would niot be too chuffed, they made the equivalent of billions on their plantations across the caribean and americas. Witht their power and money it would have seemed to them like a usurping of their rights to carry on a business, however, being along way from the home parilaiment, they would probabbly have tired to resist any reforms for as long as possible.
