Is it fair to describe Charles 1st as a tyrant in the years 1629 - 1640 (personal rule) ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

He attempted to rule and impose religious changes and introduce taxation (ship tax) without the approval of parliament.

Taxation was inparticular a right of parliament that had stood for 300 years.

He brought armed soldiers into the house of commons to arrest members in defiance of parliamentary privilege.

Whether or not the trial was legally based he attempted to impose his will over that of the people of this country and died for it.
