st euphrasia reform school for girls, monmouth wales
I want to find out the where abouts of St Euphasia...it was a reform/ approved school for girls in the 1950s -1960s. Looking at the one photo that I have,....today...it might well be a nursing home, public gardens ,maybe a private school?..........It was run by the "sisters of the good shepherd" in Monmouth,Wales... I would be grateful of any information.

There is a message board (forum) on that site and it mentions that school, maybe you could ask on there.

A further search seems to indicate it was in Troy House.

for marabout...i was one of the girls at st.euphrasias...it was a convent for the sisters of the good shepherd/reform/approved school it is a grade 11 listed building and is called TROY HOUSE......IT IS AT MITCHEL TROY...it is now a private residence and has not been kept to the standards of the nuns...(the outside grounds anyway )from what i could see last year the duke of beauforts family had a lot to do with it and it has a great history...finding it it hard though....when the nuns left it was a home for 'delinqent boys' and i am afraid the town of monmouth remember them only to well....leave email contact if you want ....
Irisheyesi52 - question for you: if you are still on this forum, please could you reply to this, thank you? Please also contact me at [email protected]
I lived in Troy house for a few years when the sisters were there and for some time after. I was about 16 , I am 59 now but I can remember everything about the house like it was yesterday. I can still remember my way around the house and where everything is in the house, like all rooms and even the church inside the house.
