What happened to German Crown Jewels.....................

................which were plundered by the British Army in 1945? They stormed a castle in Bavaria which was hiding Albert Speer, but they by-passed him and started looking for the sparklers, which they found and removed, then took Speer. Where are they now?

Berthold Konrad Hermann Albert Speer was not a threat. He was an interesting architect, however, and I have several volumes of his drawings in my library here. His son, Albert Speer, is also an architect and urban planner and is currently in charge of the huge 10 mile long axis through Beijing which will connect the Olympic Village with the Forbidden City and end at the immense new railway station which will then connect the capital to the rest of the country.

Because something is said or shown on TV doesn't mean it is correct and anyway the Germans stole enough valuables from the countries they in vaded not to miss a few of their own .
By the way did anyone on this thread live through the Second World War (apart from Clarion -I think he did )?

I lived through WW2 and was conscripted into the Army at the beginning of 1943 and demobbed in 1946. Like many people at the time I took a great interest in the Nuremburg trials (which lasted from 1945-1949) and, as I was a military and civil engineer, was particularly interested in Speer who was an architect on a grand scale and found guilty in that part of the trials which commenced on November 20 1945 and ended October 1 1946.
