sorry no number of letters given
Type of cake=Pontefract. Also a castle.
Pontefract cakes are definitely not mince pies - they're made of liquorice. And for that matter, a Dundee cake isn't a mince pie either - it's a fruit cake with almonds on top.

The only fragrant Indian wood I can think of immediately is sandalwood, and I'm fairly sure there isn't a Sandalwood Castle.......or is there?
Does Eccles have a castle?
There is a village called Eccles in Kent. Leeds Castle is 8 miles from it .
hows that history surely thats puzzles
Question Author
I already have Pontefract as one of my answers clue was a round flat liquorice sweet.
Maybe it is puzzles really but thought you great historians on this site would be able to assist after all most castles are historical.
If this means you do not want anything like this here I will refrain in future,
Glad to try and help halcyon days, perhaps somebody got out of the wrong side of the bed today!
Narolines - I wonder if you're thinking of Saltwood Castle in Kent where Alan Clark MP lived.
