Model CS-E - can find lots of CS models, but they're all too ornate and old-looking... mine looks retro in a 1950's/60's sense, but it's hard to tack it to a specific decade. It's of a greyish duck egg blue colour, cylinder shuttle, with a green box and plain wooden base skirted with green paper. Can anyone help?

You might find that the good folks on this site are able to help you ! You don't say if it is manual or electric but I am guessing it is an early electric model...... and 1940-50 sounds about right for the colours.

Thanks! I'll ask them, incidentally it's a hand-operated one although an electric version is advertised at the back of the instruction booklet.
Good luck ! Doesn't the manual give a date ?

It sounds like a lovely machine btw... my first proper machine had bobbins like bullets... (not the round ones of today) but I have recently treated myself to a brand new Bernina and what a joy it is to use !

No, it doesn't, unfortunately... I recently picked up a little portable JML EasySew, and for the short while I used it I found it tolerable, but since picking up this one at the local tip I've found it both easier and nicer to use!! Thank you again! The Bernina sounds lovely... ;)
