The (American) Merriam-Webster dictionary says:
PIRATE; especially : a privateer of the Barbary Coast.
Hope that helps.
A corsair, according to 'winsword',is both a pirate who sailed the Barbary Coast, also known as a Barbary Pirate. Or a fast pirate ship working the same coast often with Govt.sanction
It could also be: "a swift pirate ship - often operating with official sanction"
from the latin 'to plunder' or to 'run a course' cursus
Its the National airline of Corsica stupid.
