I rent a house and I'm appealing against my council tax band. The form is asking the approx year it was built. How can I find that out online? I can hear you all saying 'Why don't you ask your landlord?'. Dont even go there! Please help x

Can you post a piccie of your house ? From that someone on here would be able to determine the approximate age of the house from the style and shape !
If you're in a street, why not ask the people next door when theirs was built?
As you don't own the house are you even allowed to appeal against the council tax banding? I'd guess that the council wouldn't deal with if they knew it wasn't your property.

Anyway, check out the land registry site - Google it - and for 3 you can download their entry for the house
check out the Martin Lewis website on how to find out whether you are being charged the correct council tax.
