Can I find out 4 what action my Dad was awarded a bronze oakleaf?
My Dad was a career soldier in the British Army & was awarded a bronze oakleaf for something presumably brave that he did in the Malayan Insurgency in the early 1950's. He never disclosed why he received it & I wonder if anyone knows where I can find out.

Unfortunately that Australian site is not relevant to British military personnel.
I suggest that the hunt for British Army service records (1921-1997) would begin with APC Historical Disclosures, Glasgow...

Although awards such as Mention in Despatches will form part of the service record, it is highly unlikely that the citation for any award will exist within the record.
MIDs are published in the London Gazette so you could search for your father's name there to pinpoint the timeframe of the award...
