Anyone know of any sites about what Victorian/Edwardian hotels were like in terms of running/admin?
Having trouble finding all my searches just bring up modern hotels, but would they have changed all that much in 100 years or do you think that hotel jobs and admin are the same now as then.

Annanan, I think you're the one writing a novel about the Edwardian era. As a published writer myself can I advise you not to get too slavishly involved in lengthy descriptions of the times. You've asked for details on room furnishings, meals, upstairs-downstairs and it's beginning to sound as if you're actually writing a biography rather than a novel.
Unless it is vitally important to know exactly how things were operated because your main character is a bell boy or chambermaid or whatever, your readers will be much more interested in the story surrounding your characters rather than the sort of linen, furniture etc., in an Edwardian seaside hotel.
